Well here it is - the first snow of the winter.......it had been -5c over night,  cold enough for me to put another quilt on the bed and have a hotwater bottle to cuddle. Here are pictures of the finished quilt - it is 100" square - that is smaller than the original top was made at.....someone didn't want it that long after all - after I had made it and marked the quilting patterns! so I took a whole pattern block off the bottom, after detaching the borders ..........I was not a happy bunny!  It has affected how I felt about the quilt and I am sure I have not

Since the last posting I have been away on holiday to Cornwall - we went to Bude - why haven't we found this place before? - when the children were small?.  The beach is marvellous - sandy, with a surrounding of rocks, the children would have loved fishing in the rock pools, making sandcastles and playing in the sea there.  Lots of other things to do in the town  too, some lovely individual shops

Margaret is over her Op for Kidney cancer - they didn't do the 'key hole 'surgery they had thought they would do as they kidney was worse than they thought! This little hedge is what all the trouble with our phones was about - 007 cut through the cable with the spade. The cable was just under the surface of the grass/weeds and not in a protective covering! I took advantage of all the lovely weather and stripped all the bedding from the bed yesterday morning and had two blankets and one quilt on the line by 10am........the blankets have dried so soft and fluffy - we had a fair amount of wind as well as the heat so that helped. Now don't laugh! but I found this plant growing in a hedgerow in America a couple of years ago and I didn't recognise it.....I took some seeds from it and brought them home in a screw of tissue hankie! April already? This morning I have taken pictures of the second Caterpiller quilt I have made and a bag from a pattern in McCall's Quilting magazine. This is one pattern from the quilt top I found this morning, the whole quilt is shown at the bottom of the picture.Each block is about 15" square! and as you can see there are 12 and they are set on point ! So a very large top - too large for me to cart around to meetings......It is one of the Piece of Cake designs and I loved putting it together even this block with all those little circles -

On Thursday last week some stupid boy did this damage to our car .... DH was waiting at a junction on a roundabout and a lad in a Landrover hit him! DH says it's a pity that it wasn't an ordinary saloon car cos our tow bar would have caused him a lot of damage! The car has just been collected by the repairers and taken away and now we are wiating for a hire car! Dh is fine except for whiplash....

Brian has started cleaning the van roof to clear all the petals and dirt.......it is a difficult thing to do as our tallest ladder isn't quite tall enough, he uses a broom head on a long handle to reach the middle but where the skylights are needs special treatment so he has erected a scaffold in side to climb on. He finished it after about an hour and said he will clean the sides another day....

The show at Malvern was not very busy early on Thursday morning but became busier as the day went on. We have packed the van again and taken it to a CL near Upton on Severn because I want to go to the Malvern Quilt show again - I think this is the best of the small shows and sets the standard for the others during the year.We took the van away yesterday but are home again (minus van) because DH has to go to the hospital in the morning - 8am to be precise! it will take us over an hour to get there
